What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science to promote health, optimum performance and individual wellbeing. It is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those aiming to enhance their health and wellbeing. A wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns are used. This approach allows the body to reach a state of balance and promote healthy habits. Each individual is unique; for this reason nutritional and lifestyle recommendations are personalised  rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

What to expect?

Allow up to 60 minutes for the initial consultation to discuss:

current health concerns

symptoms

  medical history

  family history

  lifestyle

  levels of physical activity

  use of medication and supplements

  diet

This allows an evaluation of individual needs which then will support the formulation of a Nutritional and Lifestyle Plan with personalised recommendations.

  Functional Testing may be required

After 4 weeks, a follow-up consultation of 30 minutes to review the implementation of the plan and adjust Nutritional and lifestyle plan

Please Note:  Nutritional therapy is not a replacement for medical advice and individuals with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms are referred to their medical professional. I also work alongside medical professionals and communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the client’s care to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.
